Former Vice President Al Gore is a Founding Partner and Chairman of Generation Investment Management. He was inaugurated as the 45th Vice President of the United States on 20 January 1993, and served eight years. Prior to that, he served as the U.S. Senator and Congressman from Tennessee for 16 years.
Gore is the author of Earth in the Balance, An Inconvenient Truth, The Assault on Reason, Our Choice: A Plan to Solve the Climate Crisis, and The Future: Six Drivers of Global Change, and An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power. He is the subject of an Oscar-winning documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, and its sequel, An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power. He is the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, for "informing the world of the dangers posed by climate change.”
David Blood is a Founding Partner and Senior Partner of Generation Investment Management. Since its founding in 2004, Generation has played an integral role in the development of sustainable investing and in demonstrating the long-term commercial and societal benefits of this approach.
Previously, David spent 18 years at Goldman Sachs including serving as CEO of Goldman Sachs Asset Management. David received a B.A. from Hamilton College and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Graduate School of Business.
He is chairman of Dialight, Social Finance UK and co-chair of The World Resources Institute and on the board of On the Edge Conservation. David is also a life trustee of Hamilton College.
Lisa joined Generation in 2004. Previously, Lisa served in various roles at Goldman Sachs, including process enhancements, systems project management and analytical roles. Lisa worked in Goldman Sachs Asset Management Global Projects, Goldman Sachs Equity Operations, and as a Project Manager for the Investment Management Division of Goldman Sachs. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Lisa was a Project Analyst for Countrywide Bank in New Zealand, and was a Financial Accountant at UBS, PaineWebber and Prudential Holborn.
Lisa is qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant.
Mark is a Founding Partner of Generation Investment Management and Co-Chief Investment Officer of the Global Equity strategy, covering the Global Financials sector. Previously, Mark was co-Head of the Financials Research Team, Member of Pan European Stock Selection Group, co-Head of Pan European Research and Global Equity Portfolio Manager for Goldman Sachs Asset Management, and an analyst at Schroder Investment Management.
Mark received a BSc in Urban Land Economy from Sheffield Hallam University, and an MBA from the European University in Paris.
Esther joined Generation in 2007 and is the Head of the Global Client Team. Prior to joining Generation, Esther was a sustainability analyst at Sustainable Asset Management in Melbourne, Australia, a sustainability consultant at Matrix+ International, and a financial analyst at ING Barings and Barclays Bank in London.
Esther graduated with a BCom/BA degree from the University of Queensland, received a Masters of Environment from the University of Melbourne, and received a GDip in Applied Finance and Investment from the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.
Colin is a Founding Partner of Generation Investment Management. He is also a founding member of the Growth Equity strategy, and a member of the firm's Management & Investment Committees. Colin is also head of the firm’s San Francisco office.
Prior to joining Generation, Colin worked for Sustainable Asset Management in Zurich, Arthur D. Little in London, and Total in Paris.
Colin serves as a Board Director at Asana. He serves on the non-profit Boards of NatureBridge and Ocean Conservancy. He is also an Advisor to the Oakland Roots, a professional soccer team with a deep social mission.
Colin received a BSc in International Management and Modern Languages from the University of Bath, UK, and speaks French fluently.
Alex joined Generation in 2011 and is General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Generation Investment Management. Previously, Alex was Head of Legal for the Investment Management Division of Goldman Sachs outside the Americas, and a Senior Counsel at Clifford Chance.
Alex received an LLB and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Edinburgh, and a Masters in Corporate and Commercial Law from the London School of Economics. Alex is admitted as a Solicitor by the Law Society of Scotland.
Miguel is a Founding Partner of Generation Investment Management and Co-Chief Investment Officer of the Global Equity strategy, covering the Global Healthcare sector. Previously, Miguel was a co-manager of pan-European and Swiss Funds at Mirabaud & Cie, an analyst at WP Stewart, and an analyst at Schroder Investment Management.
Miguel received a BA in Economics from Cambridge University. Miguel is a native Spanish speaker.
Lila joined Generation in 2004 and is Head of the Growth Equity Strategy. Prior to joining Generation, Lila was a Director in Development & Finance at VolunteerMatch. Before that she was a Fulbright Fellow in Chile where she worked on forestry and conservation projects.
Lila currently serves as a Board Director at Nature’s Fynd, and a Board Observer at Toast and CiBO Technologies. She is a member of the Social Mission Board at Seventh Generation, is on the Board of Advisors at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health and is a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum.
Lila received a BA in English Language and Literature from Stanford University and an MBA from London Business School.
