Former Vice President Al Gore is a Founding Partner and Chairman of Generation Investment Management. He was inaugurated as the forty-fifth Vice President of the United States on 20 January 1993 and served eight years.
He is the author of Earth in the Balance, An Inconvenient Truth, The Assault on Reason, Our Choice: A Plan to Solve the Climate Crisis, and The Future: Six Drivers of Global Change. He was awarded the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize, along with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change for "informing the world of the dangers posed by climate change.”

David Blood
David Blood is a Founding Partner and Senior Partner of Generation Investment Management. Previously, David spent 18 years at Goldman Sachs including serving as CEO of Goldman Sachs Asset Management. David received a BA from Hamilton College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
David is chairman of Just Climate and Social Finance UK and co-chair of the World Resources Institute and on the board of On the Edge Conservation. David is also a life trustee of Hamilton College.
Lisa Anderson
Lisa Anderson
Lisa Anderson joined Generation Investment Management in 2004 and is Chief Operating Officer and Chief Risk Officer. Previously, Lisa served in various project management roles at Goldman Sachs. Lisa was also a project analyst for Countrywide Bank in New Zealand and a financial accountant at UBS, PaineWebber and Prudential Holborn.
Lisa is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Clara Barby CBE
Clara Barby CBE
Clara Barby joined Just Climate, a subsidiary of Generation Investment Management, in 2022 and is Senior Partner of Just Climate. Previously, Clara was Chief Executive of the Impact Management Project (IMP) and led the IFRS Foundation's project to establish the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), under the direction of the IFRS Foundation’s Trustees. Clara’s public interest work with the IMP was made possible through a secondment from her role as a Partner at Bridges Fund Management, where she led the firm’s sustainable and impact strategies across fund types. Prior to Bridges Fund Management, Clara worked for Acumen’s Capital Markets team and later co-led the Acumen renewable energy portfolio, investing in India and East Africa.
Clara received a BA (Hons) in Greats from Oxford University, and an MBA from INSEAD.
She was awarded a CBE for services to International Sustainability Standards in the 2023 King’s New Year Honours list.

Mark Ferguson is a Founding Partner and co-Chief Investment Officer of Generation Investment Management, covering the Global Financials sector. Previously, Mark was co-head of the financials research team, member of the pan-European stock selection group, co-head of pan-European research, and global equity portfolio manager at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Mark was also an analyst at Schroder Investment Management.
Mark received a BSc in Urban Land Economy from Sheffield Hallam University and an MBA from the European University in Paris. He serves on the board of Conservation International.
Esther Gilmore
Esther Gilmore
Esther Gilmore joined Generation Investment Management in 2007 and is Global Head of the Client Team. Previously, Esther was an analyst at Sustainable Asset Management, a sustainability consultant at Matrix+ International and a financial analyst at ING Barings and Barclays.
Esther received a BCom/BA from The University of Queensland, a Masters in Environment from the University of Melbourne, and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.
Esther serves on the Global Advisory Council of Tobacco Free Portfolios.
Tom Hodges
Tom Hodges
Tom Hodges joined Generation Investment Management in 2019 and is co-Head of the Private Equity strategy. Previously, Tom was a director at Providence Equity Partners, where he spent 11 years focused on late-stage growth equity and buyout/majority investing in telecoms, media and technology-related sectors across Europe and North America. Tom was also an analyst in mergers and acquisitions at Citi.
Tom received a BA in Economics and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Tom serves on the boards of FNZ and Octopus Energy. Previously, he was on the boards of Clarion Events, CloserStill Media, HSE24 and Volia Communications.
Ruth Kent
Ruth Kent
Ruth Kent joined Generation Investment Management in 2023 and is Head of Control, Technology and Finance. Previously, Ruth was with Brookfield Asset Management as managing partner and chief operating officer at Brookfield Renewable Power and Transition. She also served as CEO of Terraform Global (upon its acquisition by Brookfield), CFO of Europe, and head of commercial and power marketing at Brookfield Renewable Partners. Prior to joining Brookfield, Ruth held a variety of roles across the financial, automotive and energy sectors.
Ruth completed her Chartered Institute of Management Accountants qualification at Munster Technological University and received an MBA from Henley Business School.
Nicholas Kukrika
Nicholas Kukrika
Nick Kukrika joined Generation Investment Management in 2007 and is a member of the Global Equity strategy, covering the Global Technology sector. Previously, Nick was co-founder and chief financial officer of United Biofuels, a consultant at McKinsey & Company, a Luce Foundation Fellow working on corporate debt restructuring for the Indonesian Ministry of Finance and a European research sales financial analyst at Goldman Sachs.
Nick received a BA in History from Columbia University and an MA in Public Policy from Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
Colin le Duc

Colin le Duc is a Founding Partner of Generation Investment Management, a founding member of the Growth Equity strategy and a member of the Just Climate management committee. He is also Head of Generation’s San Francisco office. Previously, Colin worked for Sustainable Asset Management in Zurich, Arthur D. Little in London and Total in Paris.
Colin received a BSc in International Management and Modern Languages from the University of Bath in the UK. He has lived in nine countries across four continents. Colin serves on the boards of the non-profit organisations NatureBridge and Ocean Conservancy.

Alexander Marshall joined Generation Investment Management in 2011 and is General Counsel and Compliance Oversight Officer. Previously, Alex was head of legal for the investment management division of Goldman Sachs outside the Americas and a senior counsel at Clifford Chance.
Alex received an LLB (Hons) and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Edinburgh and a Masters in Corporate and Commercial Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Alex is admitted as a solicitor by the Law Society of Scotland.

Miguel Nogales is a Founding Partner and co-Chief Investment Officer of Generation Investment Management, covering the Global Healthcare sector. Previously, Miguel was co-manager of pan-European and Swiss funds at Mirabaud & Cie, an analyst at WP Stewart and an analyst at Schroder Investment Management.
Miguel received a first class degree in Economics from Cambridge University. Miguel is a native Spanish speaker.

Lila Preston joined Generation Investment Management in 2004 and is Head of the Growth Equity strategy. Previously, Lila was a director of finance and development at VolunteerMatch in San Francisco. Lila was also a Fulbright Fellow in Southern Chile.
Lila received a BA in English and Latin American Studies from Stanford University and an MBA from London Business School. Lila speaks fluent Spanish.
Lila serves on the board of Nature’s Fynd and as a board observer for CiBO Technologies, Optoro and Pivot Bio. She is also on the Board of Advisors at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health and is a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum.
