We feel fortunate to have a client base from all over the world who share our mission of sustainable investing. We are humbled by the long-term horizon they afford us.
Whilst responsibility to clients is lived throughout the firm, our client team is the engine room, working alongside our investment, legal and operations teams.
Esther Gilmore joined Generation Investment Management in 2007 and is Global Head of the Client Team. Previously, Esther was an analyst at Sustainable Asset Management, a sustainability consultant at Matrix+ International and a financial analyst at ING Barings and Barclays.
Esther received a BCom/BA from The University of Queensland, a master’s degree in Environment from The University of Melbourne, and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.
Esther serves on the Global Advisory Council of Tobacco Free Portfolios and is a member of the European Council for Global Conservation, The Nature Conservancy.
Kate Bettinger joined Generation Investment Management in 2021 and is a member of the Client Team. Previously, Kate worked at TPG and Hall Capital Partners.
Kate received a BA and MA from Stanford University and serves on the board of Point Blue Conservation Science.
Sally Bovensiepen joined Generation Investment Management in 2013 and is a member of the Client Team. Previously, Sally was an engagement officer at Pensions and Investments Research Consultants, where she focused on sustainability research and corporate governance engagement on behalf of the Local Authority Pension Fund Forum. Sally started her career as a water research analyst with EIRIS, which provides environmental, social and governance research.
Sally received an MA in Natural Sciences with specialties in Ecological Sciences and Environmental Economics from Cambridge University. She speaks conversational French.
Annabel Brooks joined Generation Investment Management in 2020 and is a member of the Client Team. Prior to Generation, Annabel worked at Impax Asset Management.
Annabel received an LLB in Law from University College London and completed an Investment Management Certificate and the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing.
Janine Campling joined Generation Investment Management in 2020 and is a member of the Client Team. Previously, Janine worked at Anglo American, Deutsche Private Wealth & Asset Management and Barclays Capital.
Janine serves as a board member of Global Urban Development, a non-profit organisation which focuses on international policy and sustainable development initiatives at community level.
Loretta Fielding joined Generation Investment Management in 2019 and supports the head of the Client Team and the head of strategic communications. Previously, Loretta worked at Barclays, Close Brothers Asset Management and Investec.
Loretta received a master’s degree in Homoeopathy from Technikon Witwatersrand (University of Johannesburg).
Adam Frost joined Generation Investment Management in 2018 and is a member of the Client Team. Previously, Adam worked with Bridges Fund Management, an impact investment manager. He also led sustainable investment at Partners Group and Sarasin & Partners, worked in commercial roles in BP’s low carbon power businesses and started his career at McKinsey & Company.
Adam received an MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Michael Golden joined Generation Investment Management in 2019 as Director of Strategic Communications. Previously, Mike was head of group communications at Zurich Insurance Group. He was also deputy head of communications at Deutsche Bank and head of EMEA communications at J.P. Morgan Chase.
Mike received a BA in Government and Legal Studies from Bowdoin College. He speaks conversational Spanish.
Michelle Huang joined Generation Investment Management in 2012 and is a member of the Client Team. Previously, Michelle was a vice president at Hall Capital Partners, where she provided portfolio construction and servicing for ultra-high net worth families, institutions and endowments.
Michelle received a bachelor’s degree in Economics from University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
Michelle serves as on the board of ioby (In Our BackYard), a non-profit organisation focused on crowd-resourcing for local communities. She speaks conversational Cantonese and Mandarin.
Mark Mills joined Generation Investment Management in 2005 and is a member of the Client Team. Previously, Mark founded a business in partnership with Zurich-based Sustainable Asset Management (SAM), and established and managed SAM’s operations in Australia. He was also head of sales and marketing for County Investment Management, formerly a subsidiary of Australia's largest bank, National Australia Bank. Mark was also a founding director at Credit Suisse, responsible for sales and marketing for its investment management operations in Australia, a bond research analyst at CS First Boston Australia and worked in software engineering including for NEC and Logica.
Mark received a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Melbourne and was the recipient of a post graduate research scholarship from the Japanese government at Yokohama National University. Mark speaks fluent Japanese.
Mark serves as chair of the Australian Wildlife Trust and is a founder and chair of the Investor Working Group for Sustainable Palm Oil.
Mark Miness joined Generation Investment Management in 2020 and is a member of the Client Team. Previously, Mark was a director at AMP Capital, vice president in institutional sales at Cohen & Steers and an associate director at Wellington Management Company.
Mark received a BS in Finance & Marketing from Questrom School of Business, Boston University.
Indira Narvaez joined Generation Investment Management in 2021 and is a member of the Client Team. Previously, Indira worked in a variety of office management roles at Nearpod, a service as a solution company; Terrabella Realty; South Florida Utilization Review; and World Vision International, a non-governmental organisation.
Indira studied Business Administration and Management at Mount Olive College.
Claudia Reim joined Generation Investment Management in 2020 and is a member of the Client Team. Previously, Claudia was a managing director at Goldman Sachs Asset Management and head of Nordic institutional business, where she was responsible for business development and servicing of institutional investors across Northern Europe.
Claudia received a BA (Hons) in European Business from the Berlin School of Economics and Law. She holds an Investment Management Certificate and the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing.
