Overview
IFS is a leading global provider of enterprise software for asset-heavy industries such as manufacturing and construction. The company drives the decarbonisation of high-emitting industries at scale through optimised operations and maintenance of industrial assets. We invested in IFS in 2025.
Our value add
Asset-heavy industries are among the world’s largest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions. Sectors such as electricity and heat, transport, manufacturing, construction, energy production, and industrial processes account for over 70% of global emissions annually, according to Climate Watch.
IFS provides an end-to-end software platform that helps these industries reduce emissions from fuel and waste through predictive maintenance, streamlined re-manufacturing operations and optimised routing of field technicians. At the same time, IFS addresses critical operational pain points by reducing industrial asset downtime, improving productivity and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Assuming full adoption across its key sectors, we estimate that IFS could help reduce approximately 2% of the world’s carbon emissions — an impact that is material and urgently needed.
We work closely with key IFS executives and sustainability leaders to shape its forward-looking strategy and accelerate the commercial opportunity linked to sustainability. This includes helping the company expand its sustainability-linked product offerings and providing insights and data to help IFS further measure its sustainability impact and associated economic benefits to customers.
IFS was founded in Sweden and has its operational headquarters in the UK. The company serves over 5,500 customers in more than 80 countries.
